  9. They are asking the wrong people to add speed bumps. Cops can’t add speed bumps. Go see your city/state leaders for that,
However the ticketing issue is there problem so let em have it! 😂

  11. Why is it illegal to park on a public street? Where do locals and tourists park if they want to visit the park or beach. Illegal parking is a symptom of the real problem, which is not sufficient public parking.

  13. Kauai should just ban tourists on their island. Just leave 1 hotel open for people who need to do business there, or outer island people that want to visit relatives. Problem solved.

  18. 1. For those saying the problem is not efficient parking… you clearly haven’t been down here. It’s ocean one side of the highway and mountain on the other. We have ONE road going in and out of Haena.. there is no room for more parking. The community is constantly giving ideas such as a parking lot in Princeville to shuttle the tourists down, not just completely shut them out! We are more than willing to help find better solutions

    2. Before the flood, cops only ever came down here to ticket those parking illegally at the very end of the month just so they could meet their quotas, so they’re obviously aware of the issue since they always come down when they need more tickets 🤦🏼‍♀️.

    3. The issue is not that we just don’t want any tourists down here (maybe in a perfect world 😂), it’s that the tourists are completely disrespectful and dangerous to our community. They park in people’s yards or block their driveways, either drive super slow and literally stop in the middle of the highway to take pictures(again no shoulders to pull over on, very narrow one lane roads in either direction), or they’re flying down the road when we have kids playing on our ONLY road! They literally already hit 3 dogs in just one day.

We just want it to be properly handled and prepared before, and they’ve been asking for over a year after the flood and just want to be heard. Educate tourists upon their arrival. Understand that just because you’re on vacation doesn’t mean the world revolves around you.

  20. Too many tourists bombarding that area. Rude fakaz too… speeding through that small road, get kids that are in danger. It’s almost as bad as North Shore Oahu during surf comtests.
