  1. Loved the video! I, too, miss my home in Maui. Hope to visit Hawaii Town this weekend now that I know about it.
Would love to see you and Satoshi critique some Hawaii themed restaurants in Tokyo as well as restaurants such as L & L, Kua Aina Burger and Anna Miller's.
    Mahalo!

  2. Wow, that shrimp must be so good! And I want to try maca-choco softserve too! Thanks for showing all different kinds of food. I was there in June but couldn't have meal since I was meeting my friends for lunch after. Just had light snack ( 2 1/2 malasadas and Cold Stone… light snack, right?) I'll definitely go there for lunch or dinner next time. It's such a nice area to hang around. I'm sorry you get home sick. I miss Japan, too. And you what? When I get home sick, I visit your walk around videos. Mahalo, Shinichi 🙂

  3. Its very nice that you have a little Hawaii town to retreat to when you need a taste of home! I'm from New Mexico and have been living in Toronto Ontario for 7 years now. I get these MASSIVE cravings for New Mexican food sometimes and it drives me nuts that I can't satisfy them. I never thought I'd miss fresh roasted Hatch green chile so much.

  9. Shinichi, I totally understand your homesickness. My husband lived on the Big Island for several years, and my in-laws had a house there for over a decade. He misses the islands so much. Too bad there isn't a Foodland, Rainbow Drive-in, or in my husband's case, a Ken's House of Pancakes everywhere.

  17. Shinichi! I didn't realize you were Hawaiian. So cool :). Great video, and now when I finally do get to visit Japan, I'll try to get over to Hawaiian town ^-^. I'll have to be careful though not to order something spicy, I'm super sensitive to it, even though I find a lot of spicy food really delicious. Anyway, thanks for sharing your adventure, and I love Vinn and his artwork. Although I often miss Satoshi (I probably spelled that wrong, sorry if I did). You should have more videos with both of them, although I have noticed, he seems pretty busy lately.

  18. lol, Shrimp dancing to RuPaul is my new favorite thing! Everything looks so tasty. Shinichi, you should come to Orlando, Florida when funds allow. We have a TON of different kinds of cuisine here, amazing food trucks, plus Disney World 😀 The gulf coast beaches are beautiful as well. You'd have a blast!

  23. Hawaii Town is very much like an attraction more than anything else. Something like Toon Town at Disney parks. I like it, but I agree; I would rather go to Hawaii. I would not mind visiting Hawaii Town one day.

  39. So happy to see this place again. It was finding this place back in March when I was visiting Japan that really cemented my decision to move to Hawaii a couple of months ago. Ate at Teddy's while debating with myself and by the end of the meal, I had decided to move to Honolulu. Best decision ever.

  45. Hi, I am worried about your nutrition. Not only you eat a lot of processed food for the videos. I just saw that you lost weight by eliminating carbs and substituting by protein. This creates chemical reactions in your body that you should not keep for long: Ketosis. You can admit that when you were overweight you were indeed overeating, and not eating healthy , probably not even exercising.
