  2. Stop rooting for the government to regulate video games ffs. You really think they will stop at loot boxes? We don't want a fucking nanny state. You don't like loot boxes? Then stop fucking buying them. Don't ask the government to force them to stop selling them to you.

  3. I rather have the government deal with video games cause these company out of control

  4. Keep telling the truth even when most gamers havent found you yet.
you are invaluable in fighting back with the capitalist pigs.

  5. Integrity contradicts "triple AAAaaaa"

  6. Oh yay another stupid loot box video.

  7. Do you walk out on the sidewalk with a megaphone with a giant sign in hand protesting loot boxes and insidious microtransactions? What's it like living in a world caring about only one thing all the time?

  8. there is a chance we can win yet keep going guys

  9. Anyone wanting to keep tabs on this situation had better start educating themselves on how legislation is heavily influenced by industry lobbyists.

  10. RIP Lootboxes 2013-2018
    Thanks EA… and screw you!

  11. If you really think the ESRB matters and is followed, go play GTA 5 online.

  12. Loot boxes are not gambling any more than a quarter machine (for a little toy in a plastic container) is gambling. You know what you can get before buying and it's random what you will get.

The difference. And this is huge. The difference is that one is a quarter and the other has the possibility to be $10,000+. One has a mechanism in place to stop kids from wasting money (i.e. If they have no quarters, they can't play the game) vs a system that has no protections in place to ensure that the user (the person with the credit card tied to the account) is the one purchasing the item.

Loot boxes are shit and they have ruined modern gaming. Indie games are pretty much the only games that actually value what games used to be and a couple AAA studios. But gambling. If they are gambling A LOT of things should be classified as gambling then.

  13. And now we will see how companies will snake their way arround these bills. Like Blizzard in China. China already introduced a Bill that said "If you can buy Lootboxes, the odds for each reward have to be disclosed". What did Blizzard do? "Oh we're not selling lootboxes. We are selling 1 credit for 5 bucks and and you get 5 free Lootboxes with your purchase!" so they don't disclose the odds because technically, they're no longer selling lootboxes. And yes, that comes from "Good guy Blizzard" and is done in Overwatch over there. And ONLY over there because everywhere else, selling Lootboxes without telling one how badly they're getting ripped off is fine yet.

  14. The irony here is that while talking about restricting lootboxes, one of my recommended videos was an opening of 51 Overwatch lootboxes. Amazing.

  15. As much as I am down with this stopping the lootboxes ,I get a little weary when the government is invloved

  16. They really want me to have more choice, so much, all the choice i want until i drown in all the player choice. Good guy EA.

  17. And at E.A. you can hear crying from the executives realising that they screwed them selves over.

  18. Hmm…. they will fight that legislation. Trust me, the game companies like EA will figt that bill and even offer some bribes.

  20. Another video about lootboxes. Why not talk about other gaming news other then lootboxes. I'm getting bored keep hearing about it.

  21. Lot Boxes may not exactly be gambling but it’s pretty darn close. It also takes advantage of an addictive personality in a major way. Definitely needs to be some type of regulation on them. Since the industry clearly won’t regulate it themselves

  22. Can you stop talking trash at starwars??

  23. Every time you said "choice" I repeated it in my head as Jim Sterling haha.

  25. Keep up the good work everyone on YouTube here, though you are not the only one you do present this issue with loads of informative information.

I hate it when governments try to regulate the video game industry, EA and Activision as well as Take Two and other publishers only have themselves to blame for relying on Micro Transactions.

  26. this bill will NEVER pass, and mr lee knows it perfectly well, he just using gaming regulations as a political platform to get a younger audience invested in his own career. you're being naive, yong

  27. As a recovering drug and gambling addict I know first hand the dangers of loot boxes. I don't care what anybody says…they are gambling. Buying them gave me that rush I would get off of a winning hand. I felt warm and happy inside. When I won i would squeal….I am 41 and would squeal! I didn't notice it at first, but then I started spending more and more and more. Luckily I have a GREAT Wife (Yes she reads my comments sometimes so CYA) who put the brakes on that shit. These boxes are bad for children as well as addicts. They have no place in games like Destiny or CoD. Shit why play at all, just hand over your credit card and move on.

  28. I'm glad there is going to regulation. However, I wish the industry had self-regulated itself instead of the government stepping in.

  30. Annnd things like Xbox Game Pass jumps right past any purchase restrictions for minors beating down the retailer again. Although a very good service for players who polices their 'rentals'?

  31. If they ban games with loot boxes for people under 21 then they will basically cut like 90% of the income.
I have a few cousins who buy premium currencies and they're all still in high school, using spare money to buy Google Play cash cards and such.

  32. 1:40 Major loop hole in these. The parent or older sibling could just buy the game for them, or since the parent card is attached to the xbox or ps4, then the child can still purchase via digital download, so this really isnt any kind of regulation. If they were serious, then they would put an outright ban on the game sales to anyone period.

  33. Please can you stop going on about this its getting boring can't we have something else to do about gaming

  34. Kids already buy M games. All ESRB has to do is change M to 21 instead of 17 and we’re back in the same problem.

  35. If only game publishers would make more and actually good games from those billions they earn from MTX, i'd be cool with them.

  36. DragonBall FighterZ is one of the only games who's gotten loot boxes right, without having the need to exploit their fan base if more games can go in that direction and not turn to EA's shit boxes. I feel like if they do that, then loot boxes would be more accepted

  38. Not another loot box / microtransaktions video… I think people get it now… Its okay to talk about it but just dont make every single video about it. Most people startet to follow your channel beacuse of metal gear and death stranding. Do some more analyse videos about games insteed? We need something positive stuff too
    😄

  39. The one game i have found that does toolboxes perfectly is dragon ball fighterz. Its so easy to get zenni to get free loot boxes and they don’t offer anything that affects the core game it’s quite literally just a nice thing in the side as well it should.
